5-DAY TOUR, FROM THE MOUNTAINS TO THE MOUNTAIN RIDGE OF MERZOUGA
ITINERARY:
Day 1: Nador / Fez
Pick-up at the NADOR airport. After about 3 hours of driving, we arrive in Fez. Guided walking tour of the medina. Declared a cultural heritage site by UNESCO, the Medina of Fez is undoubtedly the most authentic and beautiful of the Medinas in Morocco. Life in the medina is preserved with the same pace of centuries ago; traffic is restricted to pedestrians only, donkeys are the means of transport for all the manufactured goods produced there. We will visit the most interesting places of the medina with a local guide. Accommodation and breakfast in Riad.
Day 2 – Fez – Ifrane – Azrou – Erfoud – Merzouga
At 8 a.m., we will pick you up at the hotel and head towards Merzouga, Crossing the Middle Atlas, a mountain range that extends 350 kilometers from the southwest to the northwest of the country.
Along the way we will pass through towns like Ifrane, known as the "Moroccan Switzerland" because of the architecture of its houses, and Azrou, one of the most famous Berber cities in Morocco.
We will cross the Valle and the Garganas de Ziz and we will pass through towns like Midelt o Erfoud. From Erfoud we will take a desert track until we reach Merzouga.
We will spend the night in a hotel near the entrance to the desert. Accommodation, dinner and breakfast at the hotel.
Day 3 – Enjoying the Merzouga Desert
On the second day we will dedicate ourselves to enjoying the most spectacular part of Eastern Sahara. We will immerse ourselves in the desert in the 4X4, We will visit nomadic villages, see oases, and ride through the sand dunes. Erg Chebbi.
Following the route we will visit the famous town of Khamlia, where they are located gnawa, Descendants of slaves brought from Africa, and we will enjoy their amazing folk music.
In the evening, we will return to the hotel to take the camels that will take us to the Berber camp in the heart of the dunes, where we will have dinner and spend the night in jaimas. There are luxury jaimas (private bathroom), which cost an extra 30€ per person.
Day 4 – Rissani – Ziz Valley – Middle Atlas – Fez
This day begins with an unforgettable image: the sunrise in the desert. After the sun has risen, we will take the camels again to return to the hotel, where we will have breakfast and be able to take a shower.
On our return to Fez we will pass through Tafilalt, Rissani (origin of the Alawi dynasty and ancient capital of the Alawi sultans), Azrou e Ifrane. In the Azrou National Park we will stop in the forest of the monkeys, You will be able to observe them and even feed them. Accommodation and breakfast at the hotel.
Day 5: Fez – Melilla / Nador:
Breakfast at the hotel in Fez. Given the flight schedule, we will have free time for lunch in the Medina of Fez, or on the way to Melilla / Nador or the Fez airport. End of our services.
